Life has been so crazy busy lately, but I am very very excited to say that I am almost halfway done with my fundraising! It has been so overwhelming and such a blessing to be able to experience people’s generosity and faithfulness through their giving. When I began praying about this trip and whether or not I should go, funds were my biggest concern and con for going. I was extremely overwhelmed by the money amount, the short timeline I had to raise it, and the idea that I might not raise it all. However, I decided to take the step in faith and trust that God would provide for the thing He was calling me to. I have been fundraising since February 22nd and in less than a month have hit almost halfway. God’s faithfulness and ability to provide is continually proved to me through my family and friends and has continued to put my stresses and worries at ease by reminding me that He is bigger than money, more powerful than my worries, and ultimately over and in every aspect of this entire trip.

Every day I get closer to leaving for my trip I become more excited about the possibilities and opportunities that God holds for me. I’m optimistic about the work my team and I will be doing and I’m trusting that God has a plan to greater glorify Him and His kingdom in both Costa Rica and Guatemala. I’m excited to meet people, interact with children, experience the beauty of each country, and see God in a completely different way than I ever have before. Obviously, as I get closer there has become a new sense of nerves about all of the unknown and new things, however, I know that I will be taken care of and supported physically, emotionally, and most importantly spiritually. I know that this trip won’t be the easiest or most comfortable thing I’ll ever experience, however, I’m ready to push myself, expand my horizons, and lay down all of my comforts for the purpose of glorifying God and spreading the gospel.

Please continue to support me in the most powerful way you can, through prayer. Pray for me as I spiritually prepare my heart and mind for the gospel conversations I’ll get to have, as I emotionally prepare to leave my home, my family, and my friends to go to a place I know little to nothing about, and as I physically prepare to live in a new culture and way of life.

For those of you reading this, I again want to say thank you for your support, encouragement, and love. Your prayers and support are so extremely appreciated and very much needed as I embark on this journey. My support system behind me is the reason I am able to do what I am and I could not be more grateful.

God bless,

Katherine
